That's correct -- <projectname> and <directory> are variables!

Just add 
"http://software.opensuse.org/download/KDE:/KDE3/SUSE_Linux_10.0/"; as an 
installation source to SUSE Linux 10.0 -- YaST will figure out itself, it 
it's rpm-md or something else.
