Your theory fails becauseyou start wrong assumptions.
Do you consideer package management "just another bug"?
When it was changed, basically what broke was:
- not able to install the system (not that important yes? :-P )
- not able to install additional software (also true for yast modules which do
so, for example http server module installs apache if it was not installed)
- Not able to update your system for fixes
So, if you consideer this "Just another bug" and then elaborate a very
creative theory from it, you started really wrong and you should reconsideer
what package management means.
