Hello:

Is this MB an MSI K8T Neo2-F or K8T Neo2-FIR (socket 939)?
If it is then its a relatively new MB and you should not have any 
problem attaching a SATA hard drive.

Just attach your SATA disk to the SATA1 connector on the MB.
Then enter the BIOS and search for a setting like enable SATA 
disk and set it on.  It will says that SATA1 will be Third master 
hard drive or something similar.

After inserting the 10.2 install DVD and rebooting the computer 
(don't forget save the new BIOS settings) the install system 
should recognize the new drive as 'sda' (not hdx).

I downloaded the MB manual but it is not detailed enough where 
to find SATA setup.
