Definitely doesn't look good, Terry. Here's what I'd do before too much
longer:
a) bring the system down to single user mode
b) backup any critical data to another hard drive and/or system
c) boot to rescue mode from the install DVD/CD or use a Knoppix CD, etc. and
do a filesystem check/repair
d) check the drive manufacturer's website for any downloadable utilities like
a SMART reporting program that can probe the drive for more info.
