Bob and Sunny....ok
You guys rock! I am determined to learn this stuff....(I haven't got to
the commands section in my books yet)
Thanks....guys are there any "official" fixes for all these problems
that I'm seeing in this support email group?

I read the article...but I'm very new to Linux and don't understand what
this is
"
rm /var/lib/YaST2/printers
rm /var/lib/YaST2/ppd_db.ycp
and then try again with Yast. This should rebuild the printer database
and allow you to get going again."
What is this and where do I make the change?
Chris
Start terminal window.
Type:
su <enter>
enter your root password
type:
mv /var/lib/YaST2/ppd_db.ycp .
(do not forget the dot). This will move the file to your home directory.
Then start yast as usual.
