Jim, I also should have said "In general it will work in Linux without any troubles" in my previous post. Randall, A quick check at NewEgg and CompUSA shows the LightScribe drives are now in the $30 to $60 dollar range for decent hardware. Maybe $5 to $10 more than a non-LightScribe unit.
