Hello all-

I've been away from the list for a bit, but I'm having an issue with a
new device I picked up.

The device is the Instant Music from ADS Tech. It basically has RCA
inputs and a USB hookup so you can 'rip' from any deivce with RCA
outputs (record player, tape player, etc).

Well, 10.2 seems to recognize the device partly.

usb 2-1.1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 5
usb 2-1.1: new device found, idVendor=08bb, idProduct=2902
usb 2-1.1: new device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0
usb 2-1.1: Product: USB Audio CODEC
usb 2-1.1: Manufacturer: Burr-Brown from TI
usb 2-1.1: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
usbcore: registered new driver snd-usb-audio
usbcore: registered new driver hiddev
input: Burr-Brown from TI USB Audio CODEC as /class/input/input3
input: USB HID v1.00 Device [Burr-Brown from TI USB Audio CODEC ] on
usb-0000:00:10.0-1.1
usbcore: registered new driver usbhid
drivers/usb/input/hid-core.c: v2.6:USB HID core driver

/proc/asound/cards also sees the card:
 1 [default ]: USB-Audio - USB Audio CODEC Burr-Brown from TI

USB Audio CODEC at usb-0000:00:10.0-1.1, full

And hwinfo --usb shows that things look good as well.
    Driver Status: snd_usb_audio is active

When I open KMix, I can select it as a mixer: "USB Audio CODEC", but I
only have an Output tab, no Input :(

Is there something special I need to do in order for the system to see
this thing as a USB input device?

Anyone know what's going on? I don't really have a lot of experiece
with audio input.

thanks,
brian
