Well I've been using this motherboard(asus p5ld2) and video card
(7800gt) combo for almost a year already in windows and I've never had
any video resolution issues or lockups. This is the only time i've ever
seen my video card give me problems. So it has to be something with
suse/nvidia drivers.
Did you ever find a combination that worked?

I don't understand the tech. behind it, but it certainly
is that case that some pci-e slots, are not for video cards.
So you want to confirm you mobo's pci-e slot can run video cards.
