My .02: win4lin pro works well for me -

It's lightweight in comparison to vmware, but more comprehensive than wine.

Well, I have 3 previous versions of win4lin 9x, I suppose I could
upgrade to win4lin pro.  My concern was have access to the hardware,
previous versions of win4lin did not allow for the burning CDRWs and I
had to do back flips to get to my network and usb printers.

I am going to to a little more research in the kvm area though, it
sounds interesting that guests just run a a process.
