The compiler, you are looking for, is gfortran. If you downloaded the dvd iso, you have not retrieved it, because fortran is not included in the package collection. You need to add a Yast on-line installation source like ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/linux/suse/opensuse/distribution/10.2/repo/oss, for instance. After that, you can install the package you need. I also suggest to try g95 (www.g95.org), that I found pretty good.
