Because,

is too low for 1600x1200x24 bit. Set this;
horizsync 28 - 76 KHz
For this, the refresh rate becomes 60Hz.
In case of CRT display, the higher, the better.
So, set the maximum value of horizontal sysnc according with the display's
manual.
