Hello all: Please explain to me how to use ksmarttray. I have openSUSE 10.2 with KDE 3.5.6 and these smart packages installed: smart-ksmarttray-0.50-1.guru.suse102 smart-0.50-1.guru.suse102 smartmontools-5.36.cvs20061025-8 smart-gui-0.50-1.guru.suse102 smart-addons-0.50-1.guru.suse102
I never before used ksmarttray but I use smart-gui regularly. I wanted to try ksmarttray and launched it. It put the icon in the system tray. Right click on the icon shows "KSmartTray" and grayed out "Check" and "Start Smart" menus. The application seems to do nothing. However top reports: PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND 4599 root 25 0 62408 51m 4340 R 95.7 10.3 31:40.86 smart This has been going on for ~45 minutes. Is this normal? (I think not). What should I do?
