Yes, you are not the first person with this problem, there is a similar
report on buzgilla. looks like a bug in either php bundled libgd or
freetype2.. have not found the real cause yet (maybe when back from the
beach the next week I will =) )
This problem is far from being "critical" ;) altough I still dont know
what is the cause. ( thanks for the reminder though ;P )
it is critical because it prevent using imagettftotext for any non
english langage and workaround is really hard to find. I will need to
use imagemagic and rewrite a complete script I made one month to do...
