There is no native support for the lexmark x 1270,
however go to the Lexmark site and you will probably
find a Suse Linux driver in an .rpm format which means
that the file will auto install from KDE Konqueror File
Manager

I can totally agree about HP Hardware - No matter what
HP product you but for any O/S there will almost
certainly be native support for HP. HP is highly
committed to supply Linux drivers
