Hi Johannes, thank you for the comment. I would need to include more details based on list: http://www.sane-project.org/sane-mfgs.html There is number of scanners that work without additional software. Though I would need more time and assistance to bring article in proper shape. My scanner was one of those with problem to be recognized, after loading ppscsi and onscsi it was found by YaST. With modified default nice level of ppscsi it works better than ever under windows. The only thing that seems to be a bug is need to set buffer size explicitly.
