    Carl,

Thanks for the reply. I have disabled zmd and beagle and that has
helped a bit with the laptop dying. I am beginning to suspect that the
problems with the Toshiba P35 is *not* overheating. I have been through
the acpi in great detail and the fans/cooling seems to be working
properly. Another clue is that when the laptop freezes and dies, you can
immediately restart the computer without any problems and it will come
back to life for random amounts of time suggesting that heat is not the
problem.

What is strange is that on occasions I can use the laptop under
heavy load for hours and it doesn't miss a beat. Other times, the
computer will only run for 3 minutes before locking up. I'm looking into
whether it may be an apic irq_balancer problem. Presently I'm running
with the boot parameter of "noapic" and I haven't had any problems this
morning.

    I'll keep watching it.
