Linux users answer BELOW the original message and they cut out anything that is not needed to understand the context of the answer. ;-) In regard to your problem: If the desktop starts cleanly and after some time, it gets somehow unusable, my wild guess is a problem with temperature inside your computer case or/and on your graphics card.
