Wow, haven't heard that term in - oh - fifteen years!

SIGHUP is a signal used on POSIX-compliant platforms, originally designed to 
notify processes of a serial line drop. SIGHUP is a symbolic constant defined 
in the header file signal.h.

Bug 148089: Ktorrent exits on sighup
Ktorrent will run for a while.  Sometimes a while is 10 seconds, sometimes 20 
hours.  At some point though, it always crashes.  I've debugged and have the 
logs for you.
