My clumsiness: if I had stretched the window horizonally, I would have seen
instead:
<ftp://mirrors.netbg.com/opensuse/distribution/10.2/repo/non-oss/suse>
(note the additional subdirectory at the end).

In installing the above (with the correct version number, of course, I found
that "ar" is not a valid command. From the choice offered me, I chose instead
"sa" (add service).
