An addendum. On some occasions I have found that the bios will only boot
from the primary master (despite what boot priority you give any other
internal disk drives). I have had problems where the partition order
means that the MBR is created on a drive that is different from that
which the BIOS expects to find it. (and it is not stated whether the
machine has single or multiple drives).
