Well on my laptop Ubuntu works in that particular context w/o any
problem. The previous Opensuse 10.2 did not.

Well in my case only the app started at first gets the full sound gain,
all the following are almost muted. That was so since Opensuse 10.0.

I'd be too interested in a solution.
