Hello - I am trying to set up the LIRC daemon so that it can handle an
IR remote for me. I am encountering an apparent failure of it starting
up automatically during boot up and have to do it manually by typing in
as root - rclirc restart I looked in the messages and boot.msg files
but cannot see anything consistent that indicates a failure. By
consistent, I mean I have seen a couple of messages in past boot ups
that might indicate something happened (don't really understand the
messages....) but these did not happen each time I rebooted. But the
failure of the LIRC daemon to start is consistent. (BTW I am starting
this daemon via the Yast -> System -> System Services (Runlevel) where I
enable it to start up in levels 3 and 5. Using SuSE 10.3) Any ideas?
