I am investigating obtaining another machine and monitor for my amateur
radio use, but I do not want to have an additional kb and mouse so I
figured I could cable it into my KVM switch.
What I would like to find out is if a dual output on the nVidia GeForce
8800GT can be split i.e. with the same image going to two different
monitors.
Has anyone accomplished this 'splitting' the signal on opensuse 10.2 or
is it non possible?
Since you're running Linux, you don't even need a KVM. You can
configure your computers to use XDMCP, so that any computer can be an X
terminal for any other computer. I do this all the time at home. This
way you can easily switch between displays, without any extra hardware.
