Just a note to say that I tried to do this earlier. Had fun identifying the disk but found the correct one in the end, (I unmounted everything and stopped md0 whilst doing this fortunately). One thing I did find was that the -a switch on the mdadm manage command did not work, but the full --add did so the array is currently rebuilding itself.
