I had a similar occasional freeze at one out of 2 wireless networks I use. I 
had to disable and enable again wirelss, or even to completely restart 
networkmanager, dunno anymore. However before I could investigate further, 
the problem disappeared.

There is a chance that my regular upgrades to the latest SuSE released 
software, including the kernel, did make the problem go away without further 
effort :)
