Using my sent folder (ie, local copy, not altered):
Alpine: signature verifies.
Balsa: signature verifies.
KMail: signature verifies.
Thunderbird: signature does not verify.
Sea momnkey mail: signature does not verify.
So... the msg block and signature is correct, not modified, and the
signature verifies; but enigmail fails to verify it.
