Gil, if there is no BIOS upgrade on eMachines web site than do not go to motherboard manufacturer for BIOS upgrade. Some 2-3 years ago I did that, and week after attempted update I got my new mainboard. Some minor difference between retail motherboard version and eMachines customized was large enough to render computer useless.
