Hi Istvan and Happy New Year! I checked the specs on both drives and they seem to be compatible with respect to supported media and modes. Maybe one is "sloppier" and the other "tighter" vis a vis calibrating to inserted media for creating or detecting tracks? Here's what I'd do (YMMV, of course!): a) burn a comparable test disc with the NEC using a fresh blank b) check if the Pioneer is able to read it c) (re)write your data on that disc using the Pioneer drive d) cross fingers :-) and test to see if the NEC drive can now read it The goal, of course, is test to see if you can 'convince' the Pioneer drive to properly calibrate and write in a mode that is readable by the NEC drive as opposed to a possibly incompatible default?
