I have never written a web app with it, but I have used it inside Middlegen and now also in XDoclet 2's new architecture. -So I'm quite familiar with the internals of it. If/when Erik Beeson refactors out the taglib code I might help you to Velocify it. (If I have time). It would be great if Aapo would share his experience with the rest of us.
