I think both options have possible. If there isn't any result defined, send 204. (there might be global-results tough) If there is results, and one returned is NO_CONTENT send 204.

How about instead of having it mapped to a result code, just return 204 if there's no result mapped for the action? And we could also make it a Result class you could map, if you wanted to put it after a chained action or something...

We could make the ServletDispatcher just return 204 for when the result code is NONE. Would that work?
