These devices seem to be pretty locked and TomTom is not obliged to
provide any technical information of their system.
AFAIK there is nothing we can do about it. Even if they had a SD card,
most probably the boot loader and kernel images would be ciphered and
signed, like it happens in other TT devices.

You you feel like playing with it, try to use wireshark and sniff the
communication between the device and Tomtom Home.
