No. True for software because it is not covered by those restrictive French/European/whatever laws, but definitely wrong under French law for novels, photographs, paintings, etc., and more generally any "creation of the human spirit" (IIRC). Any text that is not a source file may fall in this case. > Non-modification is not a moral right: It is. To make things simpler, imagine a novel. A French author may sell the reproduction rights to a publisher. However if the publisher wants to modify the text, he cannot do without the author's agreement. And if the contract says otherwise, this part is simply void. French law is really different from US law on this point. > it is not the same to say "you cannot modify this" than > to say "you can modify this, but if you do then set yourself as author > and add me to the credits" No, it is not the same. So what? You are out of topic. What I am saying is that you can write anything, French law says: "whatever has been agreed previously, you cannot modify it the author refuses it". > The "modification right" is not a moral right, Javier, are you a specialist in French law? > I suggest you use the Linux Documentation License I allow other people to fix my code (although this pisses me off when they actually introduce new bugs) but I will not allow anybody to change these texts without my consent, because I state my personal opinion in it. It is not the role of a Debian's maintainer to twist my words or my thoughts if he decides that they are not politically correct. These texts can be distributed for 0 $ and 0 cent on any media. If this does not suit Debian, I don't care. _______________________________________________ Openvas-devel mailing list [email protected] http://lists.wald.intevation.org/mailman/listinfo/openvas-devel
