Bugs item #779, was opened at 2008-10-08 12:49 Status: Open Priority: 3 Submitted By: Chandrashekhar B (chandra) Assigned to: Nobody (None) Summary: "checks to perform concurrently" is set to default value of 4, some Windows plugins fails to report Resolution: None Severity: major Version: None Component: openvas-plugins Operating System: None Product: OpenVAS Hardware: None URL:
Initial Comment: The issue occurs when multiple plugins are selected for scanning. But, when only one plugin is selected, it reports appropriately. Example scenario: (Quoting from Carsten) Test is running gb_vmware_prdts_mult_vuln_win.nasl and gb_thunderbird_mult_vuln_july08_win.nasl against a host which has installed vmwareplayer 2.0.1 and Thunderbird 1.5.12. Only a warning for the vmware player is shown. Disabling the vmware check and running only the thunderbird test will bring up the Thunderbird warning. Running Firefox and Thunderbird test against a host with both vunerable versions brings sometimes zero, one or two warnings only by running the test a few times without any changes. Observing the logs and the saved KB items, it looks like some of the plugins are failing to launch or they exit intermittently without traversing the entire code. Work around: When "checks to perform concurrently" is set to 1, all plugins report appropriately. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: http://wald.intevation.org/tracker/?func=detail&atid=220&aid=779&group_id=29 _______________________________________________ Openvas-devel mailing list Openvas-devel@wald.intevation.org http://lists.wald.intevation.org/mailman/listinfo/openvas-devel
