I had had the same problem a few weeks ago. This picture <http://www.greenbone.net/technology/tool_architecture.html> helped a lot. - client: "old" GTK client, talks directly to the scanner, need to keep connection while the scann runs. Is able to talk to the manager, if compiled with --with-omp. - Manager: some kind of extended, head-less client. - gsa: Web-Client, talks to the manager. - administrator: I'm still not completely sure what this component does exactly. I suggest using manager and gsa instead of the "old" client. The interface presented by gsa is much more intuitive. -- Schönen Gruß - Regards Hartmut Goebel Dipl.-Informatiker (univ.), CISSP, CSSLP Goebel Consult Spezialist für IT-Sicherheit in komplexen Umgebungen http://www.goebel-consult.de Monatliche Kolumne: http://www.cissp-gefluester.de/ Goebel Consult mit Mitglied bei http://www.7-it.de
