Why? (the stuff is build on debian / buntu hosts using their native tools) Also, as said several times, feedback is totally welcome. So you either complain about broken stuff, send a patch or fix it yourself (see http://en.opensuse.org/Build_Service/Collaboration for how to do that). The whole reason the packaging there differs from Debians is basically: 1. Some of their stuff didn't work ootb on OBS for whatever reason (e.g. the automatic certificate generation for -server / -scanner - dunno why this happened and didn't bother investigating since I intended to remove it anyways). 2. I don't like a few things they do - e.g. the automatic certificate generation, also I see no reason to package static libraries. 3. Sometimes they just went over the top with patching stuff to comply with their policies _IMHO_ - e.g. on one version of -client there were huge patches to the localization stuff. I prefer to stick with upstream as much as possible. 4. When I first created 3.x packages there were no debian / buntu packages anywhere to my knowledge. Anyways, as said, I'm open to contributions or if anyone is interested in syncing that a bit more ... regards, Stephan _______________________________________________ Openvas-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.wald.intevation.org/mailman/listinfo/openvas-discuss
