I was able to make it work after deleting all databases (tasks.db, scap.db
and cert.db) and rebuilding tasks.db _before_ synchronizing scap and certs.
However, the logs show this:

Maybe the openvas-check-setup script or openvasmd --rebuild should show
verboser error messages :/.
