Google: systemd-unit, oneshot, systemctljust point ExecStart= to a shell script doing what you want to do and "systemctl start openvas1-service1 openvas-service" at the end of that script instead enable them
or schedule your oneshot-service before the other openvas-services with Before=

I think I may have asked something wrong, I'm not wanting to "work around" anything. What I was intending to ask, is I would like to have all of the OpenVas services start when the server starts up. Like autoexec.bat in DOS would start certain things. I would like the startup file (don't remember what it's called) Download updates (openvas-nvt-sync & openvas-scapdata-sync) Then start the necessary services, like openvasad Randy Dover -----Original Message----- From: Openvas-discuss [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Reindl Harald Sent: Friday, October 2, 2015 9:55 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Openvas-discuss] Startup Script Am 02.10.2015 um 15:52 schrieb Randy Dover:Please be patient with this Linux newbie, First, hope it's not off topic (shouldn't be as it's related to OpenVas!) I've built a CentOS 7 server and installed OpenVAS on it.atomic repo privides packages including startup scripts as newbie you really should not start with working around the package management and as professional you avoid it also whenever possible or build at least own packages instead "make install"I would like to create (or modify existing) startup (when server is booted / rebooted) script that will: Check for updated defs Start all the OpenVAS components (openvassd, openvasmd, etc.) Please give exact file / location and exact commands
