It doesn't work quite like this. The PDF is generated inside of OpenVAS and then extracted. It requires a dependency on texlive-latex-extra with the --no-install-recommends (for Debian/Ubuntu style distros), and uses the TeX stuff to generate the PDF. The command on the RPC interface uses a magic GUID for the PDF format: <get_reports format_id="c402cc3e-b531-11e1-9163-406186ea4fc5" report_id="report_id_goes_here"> In the response, there is a <report> node. The text of the node will contain the PDF in Base64 encoded format.
