I have proxy settings configured but I can see that they are not being
honored by openvas.

Im using Greenbone OS 4.1.7
PRETTY_NAME="Greenbone OS 4.1"
NAME="Greenbone OS"
VERSION_ID="4.1"
VERSION="4.1 (ladybird)"

>From the OS administration window:

Sync proxy is set to the correct proxy.

from the CLI:
admin@gsm:~$ sudo /usr/sbin/greenbone-feed-sync
admin@gsm:~$ sudo /usr/sbin/greenbone-feed-sync

If I set the Proxy variables manually (replaced IP with xx's).

admin@gsm:~$ export http_proxy=http://xx.xx.xx.100:8080
admin@gsm:~$ export https_proxy=http://xx.xx.xx.100:8080
admin@gsm:~$ wget http://dl.greenbone.net/community-nvt-feed-current.tar.bz2

http://dl.greenbone.net/community-nvt-feed-current.tar.bz2
Connecting to xx.xx.xx.100:8080... connected.
Proxy request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: 35930972 (34M) [application/octet-stream]
Saving to: ‘community-nvt-feed-current.tar.bz2’

and it will fetch the file.

Unfortunately as far as I can see there is no way to set env variables like
http_proxy or rsync_proxy on the CLI and have them survive because sudo
denies the options to allow those envvar. Ive checked and yes from the cli
I'm able to rsync a file from github to the server using the env vars.
