Mmmh.  Could you please give it a try anyway, just to see what source port
the packets are using?  (Even if the VPN isn't going to work, it might
still help understand what is going on)

Well, 2.3.11 is the current version... but I've never tried cross-compiling
to Android (and I do not have a rooted device to test on).
