Vendor changes notwithstanding, all versions of openvpn from 2.2.x to 2.4.x should interoperate nicely. In some cases, issues arise due to newer SSL libraries - like, if the E4200 generates a MD5 signature for its certificate, newer clients will not accept this without config changes (because SSL libraries consider MD5 grossly insecure nowadays). But in general, you should be fine. gert -- "If was one thing all people took for granted, was conviction that if you feed honest figures into a computer, honest figures come out.
