If you have never used openvpn before and you are just starting to learn
it then I strongly recommend starting with a standard server to
multi-client setup.
You may find it easier to start out with a script such as:
Nyr/openvpn-install.sh
angristan/openvpn-install.sh
These require your server to be Linux.
If you are a Windows users then start out with a Virtual machine (eg:
VirtualBox) for your Linux server. Use Ubuntu Linux to start with.
Once you are more familiar with openvpn you can setup your own server
your own way.
Also, using EasyRSA3 to create your PKI (Public Key Infra-structure) you
do not need a "pre-existing secure channel" because you can keep all the
private key files properly private.
There is a lot to learn .. so be prepared.
