John, Thanks for the quick reply. In lieu of banging my head against the Windows wall, I decided to spin up my Fedora VM and work in that environment instead. I'm having greater success so far (simple ruote baby steps) but I may have more questions later. At this point I prefer to be operating in an environment more like the rest of the developers. I may reinvigorate my Windows quest later (or not).
