Hello Farrel,
sorry, there is no best practice.
I've seen
* definitions "hard-coded" next to the engine
* definitions in a directory
* definitions accessible via a web server (engine.launch('http://...'))
* definitions in the [relational] database
* definitions in classes, along with form definitions
* ...
Maybe it's better to ask questions as
- when are the processes going to change ?
- who is going to change the processes ?
- should definitions be "browsable" ? (for launch or for edition) ?
- should process change be versioned ?
- ...
to determine how to do it.
Sorry for the lack of clear answer. Maybe others will come up with an
explanation of their solution.
Best regards,
