Optware doesn't use /opt/etc/rc.d/..., so I doubt that Michael is talking about Optware. However, as a note to Michael, there are a number of people who do use Optware packages on OpenWrt devices. This is just a note that your proposed scheme for managing things in /opt will conflict with the usage of Optware by those OpenWrt users. As Oliver says, Optware is not supported by OpenWrt (it's supported by developers who use Optware and are also OpenWrt users and developers), so there is nothing stopping you going ahead with creating such a collision for those users who use both OpenWrt and Optware. If you do choose to go ahead, I'd like to work with you to try and make the two schemes interoperable (or at least not conflicting). You can find more information about Optware at: http://www.nslu2-linux.org/wiki/Optware/HomePage There are over 1000 packages for each of 26 embedded platforms (including two specific openwrt platforms) at: http://ipkg.nslu2-linux.org/feeds/optware/ Any open source project is welcome to use any of the patches or other files from the Optware source repository at: http://svn.nslu2-linux.org/svnroot/optware/trunk/ -- Rod Whitby -- NSLU2-Linux (which includes Optware) project lead _______________________________________________ openwrt-devel mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openwrt.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/openwrt-devel
