Yeah I tried optware and It didn't really work for me.  I prefer the OpenWRT 
naming and placing of things... and things like Apache just didn't work.  I'm 
a very content user of  ipkg -d .

Could I persuade people to re-look at my proposal considering a more 
generalised mount point.   

My current scripts have /opt hard-coded at various points  but I wouldn't have 
left those in  - but would apply the script to (potentially) a list of mount 
points that required delayed mounting.

Currently in OpenWRT there is a bit of a hole when items are installed in a 
different  spot to others items... especially with regard to the init 
scripts.. but also to some things like kernel modules (though I am happy to 
install these all on root).
