... currently I'm using the ifxmips with the normal ifx eval boards.
Usually this boards are equipped with uboot (beside some adm5120 based ref 
designs).

Be careful - in some cases the uboot env is not at the beginning of the flash. 
Just using the ifxmips would destroy the uboot env in this case.
Danube/Twinpass/ARX100 based devices are less critical because of the built in 
rom code -> you can download even a new uboot if you find the acc. boot strap 
pin.
