As far as OpenWRT goes it works great on the device. I am convinced that I
am not getting the full power out of device though with madwifi, I am able
to get a better signal on the AP with the sock firmware than I am with
madwifi (my situations have allowed me to still use it with the decreased
power output). Madwifi is supposed to have a 10dbm offset to compensate for
cards/devices with more than 18dbm. I am not sure of ath5k suffers from the
same issue or not, I am planning on testing this week. I have not used the
dual polarity model of the powerstation. I have used the dual polarity
nanostation with openwrt and it works fine with adaptive, vpol or hpol.
