I would love a stable "update" repository for openwrt, with package updates,
specially if it includes some wireless fixes backported. For those
non-openwrt-dev that opt for
stable releases, they have to deal with bugs for months, years, before a
full release.
I already shared some package updates for some users but there is no
"official" repo to put them.
Only the kernel and some early booting code cannot be updated without a
reflash.
However, those are special cases and might not be too common.
Maybe even kernel builtin code could be fixed with something like Ksplice
;-)
BTW, I could never build a module that matches the opkg kernel version id
(the md5 part). Even copying kernel config.
Even using SDK package.
