No, I stopped using them because of RAM capacity problems, see below.

Yes, provided you did a backup of the partitions first thing:)

Last time I tried with my 16MB MPR-L8, it was crashing just as an AP with 2 
DHCP clients, not even performing heavy natting, Luci was horribly slow, 
eventually crashing rapidly after trying to serve the home page:(

Maybe my config wasn't optimal, but it was working ok on a Poray X8 with 32 MB 
RAM.
